Chairman's message

Aberdare Rugby Club is the child of the old Aberaman Rugby Club which celebrated it's centenary in 1992. In 1995 we decided to rename the club mainly because we had moved from the old Aberaman Park (in 1972) to the present headquarters in Aberdare town centre itself.
We play our rugby on the Ynys fields alongside the Sobell's sports centre in Aberdare. Aberdare provides rugby football for all age-groups, 12 sides in total ranging from the Minis starting at Under 8's right through to the Senior side which at the moment is in Division 4 South East of the ASDA Leagues. We are an ambitious club and plan to gain promotion at the end of this season into Division 3 South East. Anyone who wants to play rugby is welcome at Aberdare. There is a very successful Athletic side as well as the Youth team which plays in the Heart of Wales league. So, we have a thriving club with very good coaches and facilities as well as very good clubhouse facilities.
I hope you enjoy the website and it is a pleasure and honour for me, as Chairman of this great club to welcome you to our website.
Best Wishes,
Humphrey Evans.
