Rhydyfelin 24 – Aberdare 12

Saturday 6^th October 

Aberdare opened the scoring in this Cup game, their opening try came after some intense rucking and mauling from the Division Four pack.  Matthew Shellard gathered the ball and darted over for a try, which went unconverted.

The next score came from the home side when they added 3 points by way of a penalty.  Next came a converted try by the home scrum-half Nicky Griffiths. Rhydyfelin 10 – Aberdare 5.

Rhydyfelin added two further converted tries in very quick succession to make the score 24 - 5.  Aberdare responded with a late try by the innovative Matthew Smith with was converted to make the score 24 – 12 at the final whistle.
