In a game that saw both teams, play some good rugby at times, its was Aberdare that opened the scoring with a try from James Furey, Furey was given the ball just inside the oppositions half and with a turn of speed rounded his opposing winger and saw Furey race to touch down in the left corner, Gavin Hek was unable to add the addition points from the touchline.  Aberdare 5 – Pentyrch – 0.

The visitors added a try when their open side flanker crossed after a fine passage of play which saw their batter the home try line with everything they had.  Aberdare 5 – Pentyrch – 5.

Is was the visitors again to add the next score when Aberdare were deep in the visitor half lost the ball, which was hacked on by Pentyrch and gathered for them to score another try, Aberdare – 5 Pentyrch – 10.

After their wake up call the Aberdare forwards mauled their way to the visitors five metre line, it was Anthony Shellard that found the gap and darted over for Aberdare’s second try, Hek then added the extra points to make the score Aberdare - 12 Pentyrch – 10.

Just before halftime Aberdare were awarded a penalty when the visitor were penalised for some indiscipline, which Hek converted to make the halftime score Aberdare 15 – Pentyrch – 10. 

The second half started as the first half ended with Gavin Hek adding three points from another penalty.  Aberdare – 18 Pentyrch – 10.

Matthew Smith added yet another try after a fine passage of play involving the Aberdare backs, which went unconverted, final score Aberdare – 23 Pentyrch – 10.
