Presentation Evening
Continuing with a break from in tradition the committee at Aberdare RFC once again decided to hold the 2006 - 2007 annual ‘Player Of The Year’ presentation evening at the clubhouse. Unfortunately due to various excuses there were no guest speakers present, as a result the Coaches for each team along with the Youth Section Secretary Mr John Wrangham made some very good and purposeful speeches and comments on the outgoing season.
After an excellent buffet provided by the club Steward David and his Wife Penny, the evening began with an opening address by Chairman Humphrey Evans. After welcoming our members congratulated the first team on an outstanding performance in the league and narrowly missing out on promotion back to Division 3 South East.
The Youth were also very strong last season with the youth team having a successful tour of Benidorm, and losing the League title to Bedlinog in a hard fought match.

A special award was then made to Mr. Dai Jones for outstanding contribution to the athletic side during the past several seasons.
The entertainment then commenced with a disco provided by the ever-popular resident DJ and 1st XV hooker Luke (DJ) Thomas however this evening he only supplied the disco he was otherwise engaged with his lovely sweetheart to bother with the menial tasks. The evening was well attended and the decision to hold the event at the clubhouse proved to be a great success.
