Honours for Aberdare Juniors.
Four of Aberdare under 16's, Daniel Lewis (No8), Jordan Jones (centre/wing), David Miles (prop) Gary Williams (centre), have been selected for the recently formed Cardiff Blues North side, and played in the recent games against The Ospreys and the Blues South, and the Scarlets This is the first time Aberdare have had players selected, and to have 4 from the current under 16's is a great honour for the club and coaches.

Phil Smith and Josh Carter, who both play centre for Aberdare under 15’s, represented Wales at Rugby League through the summer, where they took part in a festival of Rugby in Sheffield playing against the best rugby league players in the country for their age, and watched by the country’s top League scouts.
Sam Jonathan, centre for Aberdare under 14's, went one step further and achieved the highest honour in rugby League for his age by being selected for the Great Britain National Camp. Sam was watched by some of the top League scouts in a number of Games through the summer. It's a prestigious event involving the top 40 players in the country at this age group, and is a major achievement for him to be selected for the camp. Sam will have the honour of having top level coaching and performance analysis, which are combined to provide a complete elite player development programme. Sam was one of only a few Welsh players selected, and Aberdare under 14's are hoping to reap the rewards on the field in the union code.

As well as these, Aberdare Juniors also have 11 Cynon Valley players in the under 15’s, 9 players in the Heart of Wales under 14’s, 7 from under 13’s, and 7 from the under12’s, while the under 11’s have 11 players representing the Cynon Valley side.
These are just a fraction of the 160 registered players from under 8’s to under 16’s playing and training every week, and coached by 20 WRU qualified coaches.
